Best Memory of Debden Sports : Making his debut at 15 and scoring.
Worst Memory : Receiving a Cliff Moss back pass followed by an elbow in the face. This resulted in Peter spending the afternoon in Harlow Hospitaland 50 stitches. (Surely he meant 5!)
Interested Fact : Peter played for the 1st team at the ripe old age of 53. This even got a mention in the Epping Gazette as Debden won 4 - 0 on the day.
Since making his debut for Debden at the age of 15 Peter has played for Debden ever since with only a couple of short breaks away from the club. This basically means he has been at the club for 41 years. This is highlighted by the fact that only 1 or 2 players in the 1st and 2nd teams have actually passed this total in age.
Peter currently plays at the back for the Vets team and still makes the odd appearance for the 1st and 2nd team. However we must point out that Peter actually makes the vets goalkeepers job much easier and has been known to block a few of Cliff’s shots. (We will get Cliff in a later addition.) He now works for club Vice Chairman Dave Daltrey and isn't allowed to train much and rarely gets a full game in case of injury.
Don’t ask him about golf trips to France. 16 points in the 1st 2 holes and a grand total of sixteen over the 18 holes much to the disgust of his brother who was apparently coaching him that day. I suppose he shouldn’t give up he’s day job.
