There isn’t enough space to on here to write about Mick. Mick has been at the club for 45 years which is longer then the age of most of our players. Mick now runs the Vets and is a ever present to the annual tours but only for part as unfortunately Mick cannot keep awake after a few beers and has slept in many of Spain and Portugal’s bars. Mick gave up drinking last year which meant his wife had to stop clubbing as he would be awake at 9pm on a Saturday night.

Mick was best remembered for his tough tackling and his well known Cauliflower bum. This was highlighted by the fact most of his tackles were sliding and he would normally apologise to the player before he had gone completely through and putting him out of the game.

Mick’s main memory of a cup final for Debden was Peter Linstead’s brother scoring an own goal. Mick reminds him every so often much to his annoyance and unfortunately has been removed from his Christmas card list.
